I stumbled upon a great deal today that I will pass on but you need to act fast. The Springfield Canned Food Warehouse, 14th and Main has a stack of assorted jeans from different makers for $6/pair! I picked up some Old Navy Jeans for myself for $6! They do not appear to be seconds but just overstock or closeouts. There are also tons of Gap and Old Navy T-shirts for $4 each. I bought 2 of the Gap simple t's for myself and a couple of x-small for my daughter. All sizes there in assorted colors but they will not last long. Tomorrow this will be advertised in their circular. I do not know what is available at the Eugene location. If you do, please post a response.

safeway $10 off $50

Just in case you didn't see it, there was a $10 off $50 at Safeway in the Tuesday Register Guard and also is available in the free Emerald Daily shopper that comes to my door on Wednesdays. I stopped into Safeway today and bought a lot of meat as well as a few items I needed like milk, bread and eggs and came out of the store paying $30.68 for $65 worth of groceries. My checker took the $10 off $50 before the manufacturers coupons but after the safeway coupon for turkey breast, which is how I got down to $30. I love the $5 turkey breasts that are on sale with a coupon (also found right below the $10 off $50), they make great lunch meat. Then another $11 in Ranchers Reserve beef (coupon available on their site) plus bacon etc for the Weekend Easter plans. I always look through the comments on these posts and usually learn about a few other deals. Also, may sure to watch for the new 50% off stickers on items throughout your Safeway. Where they used to only put these on close to date dairy items, I am now seeing them on lots of different products. Today I scored a jar of Select Hot salsa for $1.17 because they are discontinuing that brand. Worth a look for the red tags!

OK, do you drink juice 100% pineapple or pineapple orange? That is what I got last night. Deal is as follows Buy 10 selected frozen food items, get a catalina for $10 off your next purchase. There are only a few varieties of Old Orchard that are tagged with a blue bottom showing you they are part of the deal. Buy ten of them, use two $1/4 coupons juice firefox coupon, you can double those with two of the doubles in todays ad. Print the coupon twice!
Here is the math
10 x $1.29 = 12.90
-$2.00 off 8
-$2.00 for 2 doulers

$8.90 for 10 juices
Get $10 for another purchase on anything in the store!

Now, you could theoretically buy 8 juice and 2 other items to get to the magic 10 number. Just make sure that they are frozen food items that are part of the Just CHILL deal.
You can take the $10 catalina and do the transaction again and buy 10 more even without coupons for $2.90.....that is cheap juice I would say! Other great deals this week are laid out for us at FRUGAL LIVING NWlink

I am a Tazo tea lover so when deals like this come along....I pounce. Safeway has a promo starting today on buy 3 select coffee or tea items (Tazo included) and get $6 deducted automatically. Then there is a printable coupon for Tazo tea. Link in on the Safeway frugal living list Safeway Frugal living

You can only print two coupons off per computer. I had to print one more from my husbands but it should get me a box of Tazo for about $1.50! That is less than .10 cents/cup. Do you know how much I pay for the same thing at Starbucks? Crazy!!!!

For any of you that are looking for some kids clothing or even clothes for yourself or hubby, I have seen some great clearance events around town.

First, I received a $10 off $10 purchase in the mail from JCPenny's this week so stopped in yesterday to pick up some needed under garments for the girls (for FREE :)) While there I was pleasantly surprised to see all the 60% 70% and 80% off racks of clearance items. Wished I had been alone and I might of scored some more great deals but instead had to leave it for you since I had two kiddos in tow.

Second, I was in Fred Meyer trying to score some free laundry soap before the catalina was pulled and found a 60% off clearance on all their clothing/shoes. I love these once a season type sales since I can often find great tennis and sketchers for my kids for really cheap! I even found a great pair of Eastland sandals for myself! Happy Spring. Be aware, these sales mean boxes of shoes out of order. Having the kids along was a tad distracting but I did strap them into a cart at least....and brought some toys

Albertsons has double coupons this week!

Just a heads up that in your Albertsons ad today you will find three double coupons! You can only use three per visit but I plan to stop in there a few times this week and maximize the savings.
The krazy coupon lady has laid out many great deals. Her final prices do not reflect using a doubler most of the time.

My main plan is to buy
Angel Soft tissue (there are printable $1/1 coupons at coupons.com) final price $2.99/12 double rolls! STOCK UP
Del Monte vegetables and tomatoes using the coupons for $1/4 from last week plus I will get a $2 catalina at the register if I buy 6 or more at once

Well OK, who really NEEDS chips, but oh if you are planning a superbowl party this weekend and need some really cheap snacks.....head to Walgreens this week!

Here is the deal. Spend $20 on Pepsi/Frito Lay products and get a $10 Register Rewards voucher to be used on your next purchase.

Oh, chips are all $2 this week, so to make it really simple, buy 10 bags and get them for $1 each after the RR. I just took the RR and used it to buy the blink tears and other free after register rewards deals. The only catch is that you can't use the $10 RR to buy more pepsi products. But you can use the other RR like for the Blink or Zicam and use those to buy more pepsi products.

Some other ways to make this even better. My store had .50 off 1 peelies on the 2 liter sodas. They are priced 4 for $5
I did not buy all chips....here is my transaction today since I am planning for a family trip to Sunriver later this month. We normally do not buy soda but for a fun getaway I do.

6 bags of assorted doritos and tostitos =$12

I figured that I would have paid $8.59 for two bags of chips/salsa and 2 2 liters at WINCO this week so the other 4 bags of chips and 2 liter of soda were FREE :)

Think big...what about youth group functions etc. This could be a way to stretch lots of snacking budgets

Yummy Dnner Sweet Thai Basil

In case those of you in Eugene did not know about Sweet Thai Basil Restaurant on Pearl.....I thought I would give a short review tonight. If you like restaurants with great ambiance and fantastic presentation.....check them out! We had the fresh wrap appetizer (check out the coupon link) and also the Green Curry with Shrimp. Shared that main dish since we are trying to cut calories but oh was it tasty! I would highly recommend this Thai restaurant. We are on a mission to try all the Thai places in Eugene this year. I will keep you apprised.

Safeway and fruit snacks

I stopped at Safeway today and picked up 5 fruit snacks, one oatmeal box of instant packets and two boxes of Life cereal. I paid $2.60 OOP ( they doubles all three coupons I had plus I had $1.40 in coupons loaded to my Safeway card) and got a $3.50 catalina back! I also picked up some ground turkey breast for $1.99/pkg. It was Jennie O brand and I had a $1/2 coupon that I applied to the two packages. Very lean and great for chili etc. I am stocked for the "snack mom" role. Good thing since I have snack next week at Cubbies!

Don't throw away the Albertsons flyer today, there are three double coupons on the back of it! $3 for 3 $1 off doublers! Check out this list of good deals when you use thesefistful.
I picked up some pampers with a high value coupon I had and 2 boxes of free jolly time popcorn as well as 10 Knudsen cottage cheese and fruit combos.
The deal is this:
buy 5 Kraft cheese products and get a $5 catalina for your next purchase. Good through 1/24. The Knudsen is a Kraft product and the cottage cheese and fruit combos are $1.29 this week. however at my store tonight they had the strawberry variety for $1.00 each. I bought 5, paid $5 and out spit the $5 catalina. I went back and got 5 more and then paid for them with the catalina and got another catalina. Sorry, the strawberry are gone at Thurston Albertsons but check what is closest to you! Never know, they might have some free cottage cheese. Basically I got 10 Cottage cheese and fruit for FREE! LOVE IT. I might go looking for more tomorrow.

Old Navy Sale starts tomorrow! 1/15

I stopped into our Oakway Old Navy tonight to check out the clearance sections and also to verify that the 50% off the CLEARANCE price is starting soon....TOMORROW is the day! If you are at all in need of kids clothes or Mens clothes, get there soon. I picked up a sweater vest for my husband that will be $3 tomorrow. Good selection of girls clearance but in true Old Navy fashion, a real mess! Huge selection of women's clearance, although I must admit I don't have the stamina to deal with the racks, and also still some coats for kids. I try to plan ahead one year and pick up jeans for $6 or less, winter coats for under $10 and long sleeve shirts to start back to school for CHEAP! Hope you get a chance to save big as well this weekend.

BTW, Old navy lets you price adjust for 14 days, so I just am planning to return with my receipt later this weekend to get my 50% off. :)

Beauty for all Ages Rebate

In Sunday's paper Smartsource set of coupons there is a rebate for $10 off if you purchase $30 of select brands including Aveeno, Lubriderm and others. I also noticed that Rite Aide had many coupons that matched these items in their ad circular for this week. So, although you can do this rebate at any store, I chose to stop in to Rite Aide today and used both printable coupons for Aveeno products from coupons.com (not sure if they are still available) and also the coupons in the Smart Source ad today and the Rite Aid circular. You can combine the rite aid and Manufacturers coupons on the same item. I bought $33 worth of Aveeno and Lubriderm and some cleanser and had a $5/25 plus $16 in coupons for these products so after I receive the $10 rebate, I will be +$1 plus 6 beauty products. This could be a bigger money maker, check out some other scenarios at the blogs on the right, but I did get things that I want for our family or that I can send to a family member who is stationed in Afghanistan.

While there I also picked up the free light bulbs and used my Theraflu coupon to get some free nighttime cold medicine. Not too shabby of a trip!

Not too bad! Would have been better if I had gotten some of the ecoupons from Safeway. My $1/1 carrots and a few other cellfire were not loaded to this card I guess.
I had shortcuts/cellfire and ecoupons from the safeway site that applied to the granola bars, fruit snacks, cereal and progresso soup. I bought the rest of the items because I need them for this weeks meals. :)Follow the blogs on the right to learn more about these deals. The cereal and granola bars made money for me and the soup ended up being $1 for 4! Cheap lunches this week.....Yoplait was 10 for $3.75 ($1/8 coupon and one had a .25 sticker since the date on it was tomorrow), cheaper than WINCO. Oraganic apples were a great deal and if you load the carrot coupon....2# of baby carrots for $1! Make sure to find the coupons from last sunday for milk, eggs and the nature valley granola bars or clusters before you go.

At least you can come home with a load of toiletries and not spend much at all. So, for about $6 out of pocket, here is what I got (minus the juicy juice which my daughter added to the photo!)

I bought
2 Viva Paper towels (.40/2 coupon)REALLY needed paper towels
4 Progresso Broth (.50/1 for each of these)
5 Yogurt varieties ($1/1 for each of these)
1 Cottonelle wipes ( had a $2 off coupon)
1 large Country Crock (had.50/1 catalina)
1 cake mix

Now to roll the $15 to the next set.

I mainly looked for all the $1/1 coupons I had on yogurts, then as many broths as I had coupons for and filled in with the items I really needed. Next round I am going to buy flour for christmas baking, Kleenex, more broth and some cake mixes. I have some more printing to do :)

Good Week at Albertsons

Get ready your coupons. Another awesome sale is starting tomorrow at Albertsons. I have my first set of $30 purchases set up. I will post more once I try it out. Check out frugal living NW ( link on the right) for more coupons to print etc.
I like to plan out my shopping ahead of time. Seems much easier once I enter the store with my coupons in paper clipped bundles. I plan to stock up on broth in the box, yogurt for cheap and some frozen vegies......will post more later tomorrow.

I stopped in there on Monday when I was feeling OK and bought the Huggies, St. Ives cleanser, Kotex, Light bulbs, and a bag of candy (wonka for trick or treaters) and using coupons and the rebates I spent $7.44 for the above items! My store just wants me to get to $25 BEFORE coupons. That really is pretty easy....if your store tends to be out of things after the first few days, wait until saturday. I have found that my store restocks on saturday morning and if they still don't have the items I want, they will write a rain check.

Just a heads up to get ready for a great sale this week starting Wednesday at Albertsons. A preview of the deals has been posted on pinchingyourpennies PYP I have printed my coupons and am planning to stock up on Rozoni Healthy Harvest pasta, Wet wipes, Syrup, and Life cereal. These are the items that grabbed me....but that is a beginning point! Many of the coupons are printable. Most coupons can be printed twice per computer. The Quaker deals are really good. I buy syrup for about 6 months every time this sale comes around and with the printable coupons, $1/bottle is a great deal!

Roll your Walgreens Register Rewards

SO, rather than type this all up, I will just link you to another site that is doing a great job of keeping the Walgreens deals listed. I will take a few of the RR that I earned last week and buy some more of the items that are Free after rewards this week. Make sure not to pay with the exact RR that came from that item before or your new RR won't print so....as an example: if you buy another chapstick for $2.99, don't pay with the first chapstick RR, you need to use a different one. ALso, if you have a coupon for an item and you want to pay for something using a RR, you need a filler ( count up the items in your cart and make sure that you don't hand the cashier more "paper-coupons, RR etc than you have items) Good fillers are the cheap candy up front or I always use a gallon of milk or doz. eggs. The prices are pretty competitive and we always need those.

Walgreens update

So I ran back into Walgreens yesterday to continue to take advantage of a few of the freebies. I picked up a MVP Razor (mens), Halls Cough Drops, Robitussin To go and three clearance packs of stickers (those are filler so I can pay with RR) I used these coupons

$4.00 off Razor (from 9/27 p & G)
$1.00 Refresh cough drops (9/27)
$1 Robitussin To Go (was a catalina that printed when I bought one earlier this week)

Used a RR from before from buying Chapstick $2.49(you can't use a RR on the same item you bought before or the next one won't print) and one from the Dentek floss $2 and paid less than $1 and received a $1 RR for the cough drops, $2.50 for the Robitussin and $6 for the Razor. Making money here!

I plan to donate some of these items to our church food bank. Personal care is not something that can be purchased with food stamps and is always in high demand.

Here are some free items I picked up today. I had a Walgreens REgister Reward to use and so I didn't have to put any money out of pocket. I also bought a gallon of milk so that I could use the entire $5 RR.

The coupons to use can be found at Right at Home You will have to put in your name and email but should be able to hit back and print out two. The $3/2 is the coupon I used for the candles and the other coupon for the air freshener was on last week. If you don't have that one.....try googling it! My walgreens did not have the candles on the shelf but when I asked about them, they pulled some out from the back. Buy 2 for $4, use the $3 off coupon and get a $1 RR back.

so, I needed a few items for lunches this week and headed to safeway this morning since apples and carrots were good deals there. Here is what I picked up for $25!

I feel pretty good about this pile for this price. I got the girls off to their first day of school and am now feeling like I can return to couponing a bit more. So, a few more items on sale to check out. You can now print coupons at the safeway site. Chicken for $1/1 bag is on that site making their chicken deal even better.

Another method is to add E-coupons to your Safeway card. There are three different ways at Shortcuts, Cellfire, and P&G eSaver, all are linked under coupons on the safeway site. You can also print paper coupons at Safeway.com. I have used manufacturer's coupons on products and still seen the e-coupon savings appear on the receipt. So, I bought the yogurts and used the $1/1 ecoupon which was loaded onto my safeway card and also a printable $1/1. They also doubled these coupons, so my yogurts were all FREE or money makers with the .50 off due the date.

Check out the page of good coupons in the safeway ad. You must spend $20 to use them but the items work toward the $20. Really isn't too hard this week to make it to $20 without purchasing high priced items! I plan to make lunches, chicken parmesan and something with the beef, maybe some stirfy with all the vegies in my garden. I even bought a few staples that I needed like rice and barley and only spent $25!

Especially a deal is the Carefree panty liners which are free with the register reward that prints out after you buy them plus there was a $1 coupon yesterday in the paper, so pay $.99 and get a $2 RR for a gallon of milk of whatever else you want to spend it on in the future. I also bought the Rembrandt toothpaste and mens 6 blade razor which both triggered a RR for the next time I am in the store.

I just ran to Albertsons tonight to pick up a few items after kids were in bed and want to show you what I got for $9.67

Plus I got a $5.00 on your next purchase and a 50 bonus box tops catalina that is worth $5.00 for my school! You can do this too. I printed off some coupons for $1 off Cascadian Farm granola from coupons.com and had a $2.00 catalina coupon from a previous visit for the Cottonelle. There have been lots of Kleenex coupons in recent inserts, I had a .50/3 and the Hefty paper plates had .40 peelies on them. I got some items that I needed for camping next week and helped out Ridgeview. Oh, I used the $5.00 catalina that I got last week at the Kraft promo so that really brought my total down. Safeway specials ever better!

I stumbled across some great deals today at Safeway. I entered, intending to use the Betty Crocker fruit snacks 4 for $4 coupon and GM Granola bar 4 for $6 in order to start stocking up for some treats for camping in a week. I had coupons from the paper 8/9 for both these items and also printed off some from coupons.com in order to get an ever better deal. Both coupons require a minimum $20 spending, so I started in the meat department. I found a great deal on boneless pork ribs (all needed to be sold by tomorrow so were 50% off!) I got 15# for .80/# and went home and repacked them into smaller bags and froze them. Anyway, long story short, get to $20 in groceries (preferably good deals) and if you buy 4 of the granola bars and 4 of the fruit snacks, you will receive $2.50 off your next purchase catalinas. Make sure to take the double coupon in too! I got 4 boxes or granola bars and 4 fruit snacks for a total of $6.40 and then received $5 for my next purchase so basically $1.40 out of pocket for all of that!

Great time to stock up!

When you hit the $25 mark, a $5 catalina will print (good off your next purchase) and then a $20 rebate form. I am going to use all the coupons I have on selected products before their expiration date of 8/31 and make $6 on this deal. Plus I have some catatlinas from last week so I really should not have to use much money out of pocket. OK, the deals this week at Albertsons for the buy $30 get $15 on your next order overlap with a unilever deal where if you spend $30 on certain Unilever products, you receive $12 on your next purchase. So, here is what to do to get both deals to work

Purchase 6 Dove Shampoo or Conditioner (large size $4.99) I am aware that the white bottles work for this promo. Not sure of the other color bottles. This will equal $29.94. Not quite $30 to trigger both catalinas so you will need to add a $2.50 300 count q-tip. This makes the total $32.44. If you go to the Dove website Register first and then print out 2 $1 off coupons. If you have two doublers from sunday, that will sweeten this deal and get you $4 off making your total $28.44. Then after paying for these items you will receive $27 in catalinas for your next purchases. (YES you spend $1.44 to get 6 big shampoos/conditioners and a q-tip)If you would rather have the Vaseline lotion, the one to add to your purchase is the clinical type in the box which is $5. So, 5 shampoos, 1 lotion and 1 q-tip would get the same result.

You can use these catalinas for any items in the store and the expiration is 8/18 on mine today. I will roll them into another promo for spend $30 get $15 back. That promo goes until next Tuesday. I hear that the unilever deal will be over 8/9. Hope this helps someone! Really cheap shampoo. I am set for the rest of the year I hope!

OK, so I apologize for not getting any deals posted in the last couple weeks. We've been taking little trips and enjoying the summer sun :) Doesn't mean there aren't great deals to be had but everyone needs a break sometimes, even from couponing....

Nevertheless, I wanted to make sure that you are all aware that now is the time to buy school supplies. If you don't know what your kids might need, try checking out their school website. Ours had a list posted and also one was sent home at the end of the school year. I found that while cleaning out papers in a backpack yesterday! Gasp, I know that means the backpack has been sitting for 6 weeks in the closet. Found some other fun things in there too :)

Some tips when shopping for school supplies:lost leaders abound. Most stores have one-three cheap items to draw you in. Then the prices for other items might be higher than a competitor. I like to minimize the trips to the store so consider going to Staples or Walmart where they will price match if you bring in the ad from a competitor. Right now when Elmers glue and Crayola crayons are .25 cents or less, I try to stock up for not just the school needs but also for my own craft bins. Plus, I might donate a few of these to the church or to St. Vincent De Paul. They put together back packs for kids in the community. If I don't buy the crayons now, I will pay at least .88 in two months. So, get those supplies purchased.

Kelloggs at Albertsons starting tomorrow 7/15

If you are planning to do the Kelloggsrebate and have any Kelloggs cereal coupons, starting Wednesday you can make money! Cereal will be Save $5 when you buy 5 automatically at the register. So, here is my plan:

Buy 10 Raisin Bran (this is what we like plus I make muffins with it)
$2.88 *10=$28.88
Instant savings of $10=$18.88
10 $1/1 coupons (I bought these on ebay for $1.75)=$8.88
Turn in my receipt for the $10 Rebate= Profit of $1.22 which can go towards my coupon purchase!
Plus I think there are two double coupons coming in the ad so if that is so I will get my 10 boxes of Raisin Bran for a profit of $1.47!!!

I will be stocked for Raisin Bran for the rest of the year too :) That is unless another deal comes along that I can't pass up!

Even if you don't have the 10 $1 off coupons. Look at pinchingyourpennies for some printable coupons and use what you do have. If you turn in the rebate, your cereal will still be less than $1/box which is still a great price if you have been buying cereal at full price :)

OK, so this is the week to stock up tuna if your family likes it! Frankly, this is so cheap, they should learn to like it :) I went this afternoon and Albertsons in Thurston is giving out manufacturers coupons for the Starkist pouches for $1.50/3. They are currently a part of the buy 10 get $5 off promo which includes 100's of items but for this tuna deal, buy 10, get $5 off plus use 3 of the $1.50 off 3 coupons and double two of them with the doublers in the paper today and get 10 pouches for $1.00 plus you will receive two $1 off your next purchase from the catalina machine (1 for every 5) so in essence you make $1 for taking those ten pouches out of the store!
I happened to have some other great coupons for $2/$10 in produce and found a $1 peelie off produce on the corn flakes I bought and I came out of the store with all below for $10.94 and with $3.00 in coupons for future purchases. Albertsons Doubles

Sorry for the lack of posting the last few weeks. Have been really busy. But just wanted to remind you to use those free $3 worth of Double Coupons that came out sunday for Albertsons. I went in today and got some free chocolate milk with my girls after a ton of errands. A fun FREE treat for them! Check out Frugal Living NW (their blog is linked on the right) for other great deals using those doublers. I am hoping for another good sale starting Wednesday. :)

Cheap Good Coffee

So I stopped into Albertsons this morning to start my awesome double coupon scenarios. I have company coming this weekend and need coffee so I bought two bags of Seattles Best for $10. $3 came off immediately for the buy $10 save $3. I printed two coupons for $1.50 off each from coupons.com so there is another $3 savings and they doubled both of them. This means that I paid $2 for two bags of Good Coffee! WOO HOO!!!!

I also bought some produce and got the $1 off when you spend $10 (grapes are a good deal this week)and some Kraft BBQ which when doubled is a money maker! I have enough BBQ sauce for two years (thank heavens the expiration are all in 2010) Next time I stop in this week I am buying Tazo tea, Planters Big Nut Bars and Miracle Whip. You can only double three coupons on one trip so I am planning to drop by a few times :) Pick up extra doublers from neighbors, the Emerald Weekly or at the front of the store but sometimes the ads in the store run out early in the shopping week.

For those of you who have enjoyed a respite this last week.....get ready for another good sale at Albertsons this week. I found that I could print many of the Kraft coupons from Albertsons.com. Put in your zip code and then click on the coupons link. If you use Tazo tea or Seattle's Best coffee, they will both be great deals. Print two of each of those on coupons.com. Old Navy Clearance

I stopped into the Old Navy today and found a great clearance sale. 50% off the red sticker prices. Got jeans for next Fall for my 10 year old for $4.99 each! That is a great price for basics. Albertsons has 3 double coupons in their ad this week that double up to $1 off each of three manufacturers coupons. So, if you printed many of those Kraft coupons last week, here is a great chance to use them!

Their is a great deal on Hershey Bars, Nabisco Graham Crackers and Marshmallows too....

buy one package of graham crackers, Kraft marshmallows and 6 pack Hershey bar and instantly get $3 off. The original price is $7 for the three items together, then take $3 off that to get all 3 items for $4 but that is not all.

Use $1 off Nabisco Graham crackers or the coupon from last week for $1 off when you buy chocolate, graham crackers and marshmallows (there were more of those in a tearpad form at my store yesterday) then double that to get another $2 off making it $2.00 for all three smore items!!!!

That is what I call a stock up for camping deal....

Double Coupons coming tomorrow

So, friends and savers: if you haven't already stocked some cereal up from the Albertson's sale, wait until the doubles come out tomorrow and save another $3! For every manufacturer coupon that you use, you can double the savings up to $1. There should be 3in the Albertson's ad that arrives in your Register Guard or other Sunday paper tomorrow. If you get additional papers, you can save even more....I am glad that I haven't made it in there yet this week. I will wait until Monday or Tuesday now.

Cheap Cereal this week

OK fellow savers.....this is the week to stock up on cereal, among other things :)

Albertsons has Kelloggs cereal $1.50 each if you buy 4. The cereals included are Frosted Mini Wheats, Raisin Bran, Rice Krispies and Frosted Flakes. There are $1.00 printable coupons at kelloggs You can print two of each coupon so go for it! With four printable coupons, your cereal will be .50/box. That is awesome! Think about rice krispie treats, bran muffins etc. Cereal can be used creatively.

Now, if you like Special K or Honey Nut Cheerios and have coupons or can print some, a better deals awaits at Safeway. They are currently running a Promo where if you buy 5 boxes of select cereals or fruits snacks (they are clearly marked as Buy 5 save 5)you get $5 automatically off. Plus you can also use manufacturers coupons and double them with the Safeway doubler giving you another $2 off.

The scenario that I did today was
3 boxes of Special K (Molly's favorite Saturday cereal)
2 boxes of Kelloggs Fruit by the Foot (I don't normally buy this but my kids are going to be so excited when they find it as a surprise in their lunch box. This is dessert on Fridays )
Total was $3 x 3=$9 for cereal
$2.00 x 2=$4 for fruit snacks
Total before discounts $13
-$5 instant for promo
-$3 for 3 internet $1 off on Special K (also at above link plus I printed another one from a different link, can't remember where last month)
-.75 internet printable for Fruit snacks link
-$2 for Safeway double coupon
Total for 3 boxes of cereal and two fruit snacks=$2.25

Again, a fantastic stock up price.

And if you are at Safeway you might as well print the free Strawberry coupon from their website and get those. Plus, tomatoes on the vine are .99/#. Check out their ad for other great sales and make it worth the stop.

I plan to buy YoPlus yogurts, Steamer veggies and Fiber One bars using the printable coupons recommended here

Also, Fred Meyer is having a good sale this week on Kelloggs, produce, Salmon from Alaska, Turkey Breast and Tillamook products. Get shopping there before Sunday when the sale ends. Hope you all have success with saving money! Post your deals for us as well.

Starting today, May 11th, Kraftfoods.com has $50 worth of coupons for you to print and take grocery shopping. These coupons can be used at any grocery store and will make some items nearly free or if used at Albertsons this week (until tuesday May 12th) you can get quite a few items free or dirt cheap. (Examples are BBQ sauce and Ritz for .88)Use the double coupons for Albertsons that were in Sunday's paper and save another $3! Free Strawberries at Safeway

This week Safeway has strawberries buy one get one free. They are $3.99 for a 1# package and also there are printable coupons at Safeway.com which are for a FREE 1# package of Strawberries. So, I printed one off and tonight while buying groceries, got TWO pounds FREE. The Coupon took off $3.99 and I got the 2nd one free with club card. You can print two of these so in essence you will get 4# of FREE strawberries.

I was just in my Safeway today to finish one more transaction for the Living Well Promo and thought I had better pick up a Mother's Day card or two and voila! I found another great deal....

If you purchase 3 cards (including the .99 ones) from Hallmark, you receive a really cute black and white journal for FREE. So for $2.97 I got three cards and a great journal. Now to decide whether to keep it for myself or give it to my Mom....

Cheap Reams of Paper

Just wanted to alert any of you who need some paper for printing coupons or just for personal use or to those who may want to buy paper and plan ahead for back to school supplies next Fall, (no it is not too early!) Staples has a rebate this week for HP paper that makes it $1/ream! A great price. The bummer is that you can only get 2 with rebate. The rebates at Staples are all online and super easy to navigate. I shopped the Gateway Staples on Sunday afternoon and the employees were super helpful in pointing out the correct paper and helping me to understand the rebate process. Hope some of you take advantage of this great deal!

A Safeway Scenario that is easy

Have the Safeway deals been too confusing?
Let me give you a simple scenario:

Go into Safeway and buy these items:

20 Yoplait yogurts
4 Arrowhead flip top waters
2 cans of Del Monte vegetables
2 bags of No Yolk Noodles
1 refill pack of Huggies wipes

Print two .75/1 coupons for No Yolk noodles from smartsource.com
Print two $1/8 Yoplait coupon from eatbetteramerica.com (you will have to register)
Grab one .75 off coupon for Huggies wipes. From the paper or home mailers if you have kids.

Cut out the double coupon from the Safeway ad

If you total all the above before coupons, it is $30.95
Subtract off the coupons
Total is $24.7

Once you have paid you will receive
$10 for your next purchase
$2 off for next purchase from Yoplait
$4 off your next purchase from Arrowhead

Meaning that for $8.70 you got all the above groceries. If you have a $10 from a previous purchase, you really are making money on this one!

There are tons of other ways to do this transaction, but this is one that I did recently and found all these items to be useful and I plan to do it again before tuesday.

For those of you who would like to know more about couponing or have a friend that wants to learn, I wanted to let you know about two upcoming opportunities. Next Thursday, May 7th I will be speaking at Moms Equipped, a moms bible study at Eugene Faith Center. Time is 9:30-11:30 and it is in Rm 109. Walgreens Got 2 Be stylers CHEAP

This week at Walgreens, the Got 2 Be stylers are 2 for $10 and when you buy 2 you get a $5 catalina for your next purchase. I also found $2 off coupons on the Got2Be Facebook page. You can print 2 of these so I paid $6 for a hairspray and get and got a $5 catalina back. I will use that to buy the Nivea Body Wash for $4.49 and something else that I need (filler item) and then I will get a $4.49 catalina for the Nivea. Maybe I can roll that on another item next week. They usually have a two week expiration.
